Today, Saturday, April 25th 2009.

I visited Bibit Garden. It is the largest garden in Surabaya. It is located next to Bratang Bus station, in front of Mayora Fitness Gym, next to UBAYA collage and “My favour Eiger Store ” He he……..

The situation is really crowded with people from many kinds of age. There is a baby with his parent, play group children with their teacher, scout with their sister and brother, grand mother with his grand son and grand daughter, (elementery, high scholl, college student with their friend) and so on.. Although it is really full, but because there are so many trees there we never feel hot like the outside garden situation. It is so cool and fresh.

Wow, The Visitor not only from Surabaya but also from other town/city such as Lamongan, Nganjuk and so on.

Beside that in Surabaya still there another garden such as Bungkul Garden and Prestasi Garden. Let me describe my adventures today :

I go to this garden just to refresh myself from daily activity. And it is my first time to go here and I can enjoy my morning here freshly.

This garden is large enough. In this garden we can see ” Kidang” cage, bird cage, fish pool, outbond field, many kind of flower and trees, children game utilities such as “bandulan, plorotan, kewan2 an and so on.

But Something that I would like to tell to U is about ” Sudut Baca”. Sudut Baca is like small library that U can read the provided books there. Just read there. There several kind of book here not only for Children, but also for an adult ones. There is Newspaper, Magazines, Short Story (Cerpen), Religious books and so on.

This library is managed with Mr Eko and Mrs Galuh. But this library just open on Saturday and Sunday from 08.00 till 16.00.

Mr Eko and Mrs Galuh told me that : Sudut Baca is Surabaya Government program which its goal is to improve the read culture in our society. This program is implemented by Surabaya Library.

There several kind of Program beside Sudut BAca such as Library car that is operated in active day. All of U can find this car may be in Bungkul Garden, Prestasi Garden, Or maybe in several of urbant school. Why?? Because This car library just only 2 unit and maybe will be added 2 unit again in a few time.

Mr Eko and Mrs Galuh told me that this program get a high anthusiasm from visitor and other library car users. It is shown by in a month not less than 200 people visit Sudut baca in Bibit Garden and so on.

This is a wonderful program. We as Surabaya citizen must support it. Because I see still there are several of lack/ weakness because of the Budget limit of Surabaya Government (Pemkot). From the sum of Book for example is just allocated from Pemkot Budget and Hibah from several of book Publisser. It is will be better if private company can participate to succeed this program from their CSR. and others society through fund given to Surabaya Library to manage it to improve the facility
